I needed a reference of Nyx so that I could have others draw her, and here it is! I used 's version of her because her art looks like it popped out of the show.Nyx Picture & Character Sheet:

Aw, thanks! Yeah, when I was thinking up what she would look like I had a really hard time choosing eye color. I based most of her color scheme on unicorns I used to draw as a kid (I was a big fan of MLP and even unicorns in general before FiM). I particularly liked to draw blue unicorns but I never colored in their eyes - I just drew them black because horse eyes tend to be rather dark. I didn't want Nyx to have black eyes because I wanted to take advantage of the fact that the FiM style is so colorful, so my friend who I had commissioned to do the first drawing of her suggested yellow. She's a wizard with color so I didn't argue it, haha! I think it came out great. Whoops, sorry for the short novel, lol!

Thanks, but that was kind of rude. :/ Is that really something you have to leave a comment about on my deviation? I mean, I realize the ponies share a name - but that's about it. I had named my OC Nyx long before Past Sins was ever written. They share the name because both ponies are named after "night". I've never said anything against Pen Stroke's Nyx and I never will, because I don't have anything against her Nyx, but I'm not going to change MY Nyx just because some one happened to make another OC with the same name.
So next time you happen to find yourself in this situation, because there ARE other Nyxs out there aside from mine and Pen Stroke's, I hope you'll take the polite route and keep your opinion to yourself. While I welcome criticism and critique, this is neither. It's just mean.

I'm not saying that it isn't a good OC, much more well designed than most of mine, but I'm just saying that I prefer the design of Pen Stroke's Nyx from Past Sins. Again, not saying I don't like your Nyx but I prefer a different OC with the same name.

This isn't even about comparison. This is someone else's character that you are essentially putting down. I would NEVER go to someone other artist's fan art of Past Sins and say, "Sorry, but I like this other character better than the one in your piece!"
Why? Because it's not constructive, it's not polite, and it's freaking mean. It's like going Kayne on someone's work. "Imma let you finish in a minute, but..."
