I think the name of this fruit is Kumquat or Japanese orange (Citrus japonica)
a sort of plant that lives at high temperatures but which can withstand even low temperatures, up to 10 °
there are several versions of it
the round one is called (citrofortunella)

Strange plant...........I was originally given this BUT it seems to be OK outside? No idea what it is?
