Description I'M SORRY THAT THIS IS SO HUGE!!!
My very first line art tutorial!!!

It's pretty basic... but I thought I should start out with a basic one and then I'll put up more advanced tutorials up. I'm still learning how to use Photoshop CS3 myself! o.O;;;

Anyway, yay! You can use this! I hope it helps... YOU NEED A PEN TOOL.

I'll make a colouring tutorial later. >.<; Heh heh.

When I right click it won't allow me to use stroke path. What should I do?

Hey, could you give a little hint please?
When you use the pen tool and stroke the path while simulating pressure the first and last anchor point get very nice sharp edges instead of bulky round ends. So do you know of a way to do the same with the points that're located in between the first and last ones?Β

Hey, I like this. Quite simple and straightforward, and it seems to be a big help so far. (Okay, I drew literally one line, but this is much farther than I've ever gotten with the pen tool before. XD And I did NOT know I could use the Control button, I didn't even think to try.)

I'm actually tracing over some art I posted some time back. Once I have a finished product, I plan to post it. I'll link it here (and vice-versa) if you'd like to see. >^-^<

Also, I *just now* did a teeny-tiny experiment and discovered something not mentioned in the tutorial: After setting the middle "point" and adjusting the curve, before finalizing the line, you can do it again elsewhere on that same line to further adjust the curve. Oh my gosh, yay, I'm so glad I've found this, because it was something I've been struggling with before. TTwTT Thank you for getting me on the right start!!!

Thank god for this tutorial. My tablet broke recently and I won't be able to get a new one and I was having a hell of a hard time doing proper lineart without it. You're a lifesaver (its been so long since I've used photoshop I had forgotten how to do this)

okay, thank you for tutorial. <3
just wondering, does it matter the size of stroke for each part?
like does it have to thin for the eyes? or could it be the same size for all of the parts?

Can ask about something funny its doing? I can make the two end points, but when I click to make the middle point it just doubles the line back over (making a third line) instead of making just a middle point. D:

omg i cannot... CANNOT thank you enough!!! I just got my photoshop cs like a week ago but I couldn't figure it out to save my life. u.u

especially the line part so I was using opencanvas 4.0 to manually place a trace line on top of my drawings cause the lineart to come out square or pointy =/

soooo much for creating this tutorial~ without it I wouldn't of used my photoshop for much of anything alas I get frustrated when I can't figure things out but now I can do lineart at least.. Still have to learn everything else though lol
