I used to be scared of the beast when I was a youngster, but as I grew older, I saw how misunderstood he was.

You've got to admire the Disney Renaissance.
I also really like your technique of selecting a specific color for the composition and leaving the rest monochromatic.
It makes the composition pop even more so.
