Thanks for the comment honey ^^ I measured from my shoulder blade to my mmidriff so that the length was in tandem with my jacket pattern. I used interfacing to keep it reasonably stiff and sewed the same fabric as I used for the jacket onto it. Once the panels were ironed and finished, I pinned them on whilst I was wearing the jacket (you may want a hand with this since it can be fiddly at the back!) so that it sat properly without gaps and creases, and then tacked it on, using the buckle features I made out of coloured craft foam coated in spraypaint and gloss laquer , I covered up the stitching
