Mannnnnn it's been such a long time since I last posted something on DA, let alone draw digitally...
Finally managed to come up with an illustration of my own design, I draw way too much fanart.
This is first time I've put so much thought and detail in a digital illustration, I had so much fun drawing this, from concept design and thumbnailing to final rendering.
I can't draw dragons to save my life but it was worth the try, hope it looks decent enough.
This is my contest entry for the Gnomon forum which holds a contest every month. This month's theme is to design a magic spell attack, with a creature theme, like a dark wizard who summons ethereal animals, birds or reptiles to attack his enemies.
Keeping my fingers crossed, hope I can win first place and win 25, yes twenty-freakin-five, of the coveted and legendary Gnomon DVDs! I'd do anything for those! They're so good but so expensive...
Since I've been away for so long, that doesn't mean I haven't been drawing at all, I'm enrolled in my college's fine art fundamental drawing course since September this year so I'm working my basics. You can see my traditional art on my little portfolio website here: jenwzm.carbonmade.com/

Hello I work in a small company that we have created in texas right now. That guy is almost a complete rip off of Jace Beleren gettup from MtG... that hood doesn t lie... if you put so much thought in this you could at least make some reference to the source of your inspiration ...

I can honestly tell you that I did not know such a character existed when I drew this. I did not use references for his outfit or the summoner himself, I drew it from imagination and improvised as I progressed. I am surprised to see the resemblance though I do not think he is a 'complete rip off'. Perhaps I may have come across his image before and unknowingly incorporated his design into my own. I came up with the concept of this dragon summoner from scratch on paper to photoshop, forming the concept, composition and colour scheme, etc, to fit with the contest theme.
