Your designs are great. I've never been good at drawing machines but I love looking at the designs of those who are.

It's Heavy gunner, hand's down. Probably more suitable for defensive roles or artillary stikes. It would be a complete waste just for it to go guns blazing then later go kamikaze. Maybe I'm thinking too much about this, but that's the feeling I get when I look at this. Very good drawing. Reminds me of the Chrome Hound designes I made when I used to play online.

"OK Bubba, here's what you do" *Bubba nods excitedly* "you get in that there Thang" *points to the mecha* "and when we drop you off on the ground, WAIT! until were clear of the blast...um... until we get clear so YOU can blast away! Yeah, blast away..." *bubba nods more, drool coming down his chin* "ok Sport, lets go steal us some riches!" as he pushes Bubba to the ladder for the mech...

gosh how in the world do u make such amazing mechs? i've doodled all my life and have gotten good but still cannot compare to the detail u put into ur art!
Plz teach me! (or make a tut plz =])

Well as a fellow life time doodler , i can say practice helps, being open to new ideals and techniques help, Art Classes. Life art, Product or industrial design really help to flush out and clean up your art and lines. it helped me clean up my style to what you see here. I have a natural talent for 3d items...i can, most of the time at least, see something in my head and translate it onto paper with ease... and as for detail, its a few extra lines, the trick is knowing where to put them...
i will try and draw up a tut on it when i have time, gimmie a week or two... otherwise, look at my scrapbook to see what my stuff looks like before i do a final rendering, and in my other galleries, the white paper drafts, are final proofs before i render on the colored paper...
As u can see its all in pen, I've gotten away from drawing in pencil, and over to pen to make it harder for myself to make mistakes... fewer lines, sharper image, more confidence in your line weight, better picture...
the renderings are done first in HB2 or harder pencil, inked with a suitable extra fine pen or .05 or smaller...I'm using generic pens cause they are inexpensive vs. the volume of work i am doing...us should see what i can do with detail using a .005 pen... but it is then marked with prisma color markers and some white paint pen or pencil...
hope this helps a little...its hard to explain something that is second nature to the way i draw and think...but i will give it a shot...

hehe, The seed of this thing was a simple sketch and the ideal of a mecha made by committee. It has since grown way out of hand... It just happens to fit perfectly into ~Breandan-OCiarrai's Dark Nova Story line, which almost all my displayed art is for, and we both kinda ran with it...

Also the story helps add a third dimension to the art, some back ground or insight to the pic.

yeah, I did it cause one needs one insane mecha design with guns all over the place, and it is an entry for MechaDesigners group contest "The one that should not exist"...it was fun going nutz with this one...

you really need to read the information i put down...all the answers are there... but the engine was replaced with a core from a shuttle, minus the Rad Shielding and fail safe systems since it was either too bulky or too heavy...its just enough to power the weapons...barely...
