Description
This is generally how I generate my art- a page full of thumbnails and half-finished sketches/ideas, then I pick what I like best and start sketching a larger version. A few of these might look a bit familiar. One of them is even a thumbnail that I'm going to be doing a full version of later.
But a lot of people apparently like to see my brainstorming doodles, so I decided to post a page of Skyward Sword-related sketches.

I can just picture these happening in the game... in that one part when you are locked up in a cell with nothing but a few pots. I threw one at the guy guarding the door. He got mad. Best part ever, but I do wish Link was in chaines XD. Angsty hmmm?

Wow, it's cool to see the sketches like this. They're all so nice and dynamic, too, it seems kind of unfair to call them doodles. (but then maybe my doodles are just hideously messy, haha.) Do you think you'll be making a larger version of the middle row - far-right one (Payback)? It's a really neat action angle.

Aw, thank you. A good tip about doing poses, if you have trouble with them, is to practice drawing only silhouettes. Do a few dozen little thumbnail sketches. That kind of thing. Gesture drawings are really useful! I like to open up Gimp and use the Ink tool with a large bush diameter and make quick figure shapes out of a few strokes. [link] and [link] started out that way; I just added the green highlights afterwards. It'll help you improve on drawing dynamic poses with less trial and error after a while.
And yeah, creeper Ghirahim is so much fun. I'm about to take that "Interrogation" thumbnail (the one with the star) and do a full size drawing of it.
I'm starting to think that Ghirahim and Link taking turns jabbing each other with pointy weapons in this series of doodles is really just their way of flirting. Kinda like how prepubescent boys tend to pick on the girls they like, since they're still in that age where girls have cooties and they're too cool to associate with them. XD
Gonna quote myself here really quick to clarify:
XD I always like to think in these non-canon aside doodles that they have cartoon immortality. This is just a sharp reprimand. Something like Awkward Zombie's Smash Bros. Mansion. All the characters hang out and chat/argue about stuff when they're not being called into their various continuities to fight. Link and Ganondorf play tennis occasionally while they hang out in the Sacred Realm waiting to reincarnate. XD
So really, no matter how many times they get carried away, the status quo is unchanged. XD I might start keeping a tally, though. Kinda like how every time Gabe and Tycho (Penny Arcade comic) kill one another, the pac man watch gets stolen by the victor. XD

Thank you! Yeah, 90% of the drawings I start never get finished, so I finally figured out that doing thumbnails like these work a lot better. I can get my idea down much faster, and I can do many on one page! That way, I figure out what works and what doesn't right away, instead of wasting all that time and effort on a bigger drawing that I end up not liking.
It's a strategy I learned in my storyboarding class!

Ive only drew Link once; which I made him into a chibi inu. But Ive never tried sketching the actual version of Link.
