Never thought of suicune as a quilin, but now I can't stop thinking about how much cooler it would've been if thats what they'd gone off of. Absolutely awesome artwork, and I love how you put lugia and ho oh in the background, real nice touch!

I always thought of keldeo being based off a qilin, but suicune being a qilin is very interesting!

I see the Three Legenday beasts like this :
Suicune as a Quilin
Entei as a Foo Dog
Raikou asย Xฤซ Fฤng Bรกi Hว with a pinch of quilin

A mythical lightning creature that can shapeshift into three different animals, there are three Pokemon based on each form.
Raikou - tiger
Electrike and Manectric - wolf
Elekid, Electabuzz and Electivire - monkey

This is fantastic. I'm one of those Kirin people, myself. Then again, I grew up on mythology long before Suicune came out, so.... -shrug- Beautiful work.

Oh God, this is drop-dead gorgeous! I love this look for Suicune, and the way you brought out it's mythological roots. I'd say this is what the pokemon world is all about~<3
My fave in the background is definetly lugia. He looks so magestic. ^w^ I also agree about how interesting the Dragon/Pheonix reference is. I find it really neat how in some Eastern cultures, Dragon and Pheonix were opposites, the pheonix representing females and fire, and the dragon representing males and water. It's very different from the western ideology of associating dragons with fire, and sorta breaks the fire=male, water=female stereotype. Though Ho-oh and Lugia themselves don't really have anything to do with the gender roles, they fit the fire and water part. Now that I think of it, I think they gave the pheonix's femininity to Moltres, instead of Ho-oh......

I LOVE IT! Suicune is my favorite "dog" legendary! I also like how you did Lugia in the sky like that. I also like how Entie and Raikou look in the background. Also is it just me of does Ho-Oh look a bit like a wingloft from Zelda Skyward Sword? No? Might just be me... But very nice job!

Now THIS is art. It seems like 90% of what people put on here is either bad Facebook-photos or doodles they drew in class (which can sometimes be good, but not usually). This is the type of stuff there needs to be more of.
I also really like your interpretation, with scales. I always imagined Suicune having very short fur (like a greyhound) but I like him this way too.

Yes. Suicune based of the Chinese Kreature Qilin. But in the Pokemon World, are Suicune a Cat, a Cheetah. This say Nintendo so. ^^
Entei is a Shishi, a Chinese Stone Leon. But in the Pokemon World a Leon. Cx
Raikou is a Smilodon... xยฐD
