Uff, I thought I would never finish it.

Thisbe and Pyramus were a couple of young Babylonian lovers whose houses were next to each other. Despite their parents' prohibition, they managed to strike up a relationship through a crack in their respective rooms.

Fed up with their situation, one day they decided to run away together at night, meeting under a mulberry tree of white berries on the outskirts of their city.

Thisbe arrived first, but just at that moment a lioness who had just come from a hunt tried to quench her thirst in a river near morale. The girl, panicked, leaves the place, dropping the veil she was wearing. Since the lioness had a belly full she didn't even bother chasing her, but he did start playing with the veil tearing it and staining it with the blood of her previous victim.

Once she left the lioness, Pyramus finally arrives (it is clear that punctuality was not her strong suit) and, seeing the torn veil, she fears for the worst. Feeling guilty for what happened, he takes his sword and kills himself by staining the morale with his own blood.

When Thisbe reappears, she finds the lifeless body of her beloved, for which she immediately commits suicide with the sword of Pyramus.

The gods were so moved by what happened that from now on the reddish berries would symbolize the love of the young Babylonians. ❤️
