While watching Disney's Atlantis (severely underrated movie, IMHOP), I remembered just how much I love another white-haired beauty who lives under the sea. DC Comics' Dolphin!I'm all about comic companies doing what they gotta to stay relevant, but I'm really bummed that DC gutted the Dolphin character--she had such charm.

Dolphin is one of my all-time faves!! You did a really nice job on her! But, she's missing her characteristic webbing between her fingers & toes!! A couple other cute 'webbed' babes are Marrina from Alpha Flight, Kymaera from New Warriors, & Fathom from Comico's Elementals.

I always liked Dolphin. I first saw her in the Showcase #100 which had every character that had appeared in Showcase in it.

Y'know, that might be my first Dolphin sighting as well. Although the first Dolphin story I really remember was from an odd issue of Animal Man. Very cool.

Thanks man. I actually developed a pitch for a new Dolphin story to pitch to DC at San Diego, but a buddy of mine who's there said that editorial wasn't in the mood for obscure hero treatments. Sigh...

I saw a panel of Aqualad being treated for a wound and Dolphin swam by. Aqualad says "Dolphin, girl of my wet dreams! Where you going?" I lol'ed pretty good at that for at least ten minutes.

I think that was one of the Peter David issues--when Mera went missing (or was dead or something), and Arthur and Dolphin had a thing.

Agreed, she was such a cute character. They're all grim and dire now, which doesn't leave much room for cute ... which is a shame, I like some escapism in my escapism.

Yah, it all goes in cycles. I'm waiting for another wave of nostalgia to hit my favorite comics. Seems like everything's all bloody these days--Marvel and DC have been trying to see who can out-kill whom for a couple years now.

Which is why my comic-buying is currently at a low. Ah well, they must have customers out there with opposite buying habits to make it worth their while to go the way they are now.

Y'know, I meant the latter--but she may have suffered the former, for all I know.
From what I recall, after Aquaman left her to go back to Mera, she hooked-up Aqualad and had a child.
She may have gone crazy at some point and been a villain, but I might be confusing her with any of a number of super heroines from either company...
