Description For the 4x6 anniversary release

My interpretation of the latest 4x6 project, which was to
interpret "4x6" in a photograph. Standing rule was that
one could not use the numbers 4 or 6, but could use the "x"
sign if desired.
I had such a hard time with this concept/challenge.
Originally I had three concepts, but only two came to be, the
third I am going to finish, but It's missed the deadline - anyhow...

So for this image, I shot my Leica/Holga camera with 24 separate
frames and arranged them in rows (4) and columns (6). Shot with
my Fuji 6900z digital in color mode, loaded into photoshop and
desaturated. levels slightly adjusted. no dodging or burning, no cloning
or fancy masks. I tried to keep it "real" so to speak. Next, each shot
is slightly cropped, but honestly not very much. Just enough to
fit the 4x6 ratio.
The images were gang printed on 11x14 Epson heavyweght matte paper 6 to
a sheet (I am out of 4x6 photo paper), x-acto cut and taped to my wall.
Lit with one 5000 watt worklamp, I photographed the final compositions.
Borders and titles addes in photoshop.

very awesome how you've taken the camera the one who produces the piece or pieces. and shows it tiled and textured. just like the abstract look and how its just spread apart. really cool.

This is really cool, thank you for the explanation , it irritates me when someone does something really good and they don't say how.

Awesome interpritation. Honestly one of the most creative things I have seen in quite some time. Excellent job all around with the lighting, angle, concept and execution. This took a long effort to do which is a lot of time to get discouraged or to second guess one's self. Im glad you stuck with it. I also really like who you worked the 4x6 in with the rows and colums and the proportions of the individual pieces themselves. Great job!

you did a great job interpreting the task. i like how you took the photos of the camera at different distances, instead of just at one distance. you didnt just fiddle on the computer either, but did work by printing and taping the pictures to the wall, so great job there as well!

......and the following is a response to the comments, not a criticism the peice itself...
i dont understand why its so amazingly original. i mean, its basically a mosiac, right? taking a photo of a camera isnt that mind-blowing either.
i dont get how its a manipulation or a filter either like the other comments say. the only "filter" was a desturation, and nothing was really manipped. where did the idea that it was filtered and manipped come from?

sorry for the above being mean, but i felt it had to be said.

hah! Love it! It's great to see someone really take this to the next level. I especially love how it seems to be digital trickery at first...but upon closer look, you really understand the depth of it.

I'm impressed.

Great details of the camera. This is a magnificent interpretation of the task. May have been difficult, but well worth it from the looks of the finished product.
Exquisite photo.
