Thank you! it's a Peleng 8mm, with an M42 adaptor for canon Eos...

how did you pull this off
10 sec timer?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jerryhazard In reply to Zlatty [2006-02-25 01:59:30 +0000 UTC]

yep, ten second timer. The drop requires little speed, so press the button, hoof it over to the bike, take about three cranks and launch...

hey seem sliek you got the 300D i got the 350D they are awesom cameras arent they? anyway i love th eangle you took this from, theres exceelent clarity and sharp fosus, was this done with a fish eye lense? the contrast between the sand and sky is just epic and dynamic, very good job yo, very impressive

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jerryhazard In reply to EdgeFx1 [2006-02-22 04:10:22 +0000 UTC]

Yep, it's the rebel. I should have waited 3 weeks, I'd the XT instead, but I needed a camera badly at the time. It works out well, and I'm used to working within a cameras limits after shooting with a fuji 6900 for three years

And yes also, it was taken with a fisheye. Peleng 8mm, manual focus. It's a good lens if you stop it down to f/8 or f/11. less than that and it's tricky, as well as a bit soft. Thanks so much for the keen words bro, appreciated!

SEStevens [2006-02-13 17:01:06 +0000 UTC]

Alright. You have to tell me how you get that sort of timing down.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jerryhazard In reply to SEStevens [2006-02-14 00:29:16 +0000 UTC]

It's all a matter of.... running

Really... finding the right spot to ride/jump/perform off is difficult. I could take so many cooler images if I had either a) a remote that fired from 50ft that also triggered a 10 second self timer, or b) a 30 second timer...

and.. for every one I nail with the timing, there are 10-30 that I've missed. Last week, I spent two and half hours doing the same wall ride over and over and over... (and the bastards aren't even going to use it!)

that's really all there is to it!

awesome im thinking about getting one for my 300D.. how do you find it? anything i should look out for?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jerryhazard In reply to sk [2006-02-14 00:32:53 +0000 UTC]

ebay is the easiest place to find them. plan on spending about 180 to 200 usd... and, you'll need an M42 screw mount to eos adaptor. Some lenses come with it, others don't, so shop carefully. I love mine - awkward at first, but super keen once your used to it...
