Odd title this time... Usually I have some idea of what to call things beforehand, but this I just pulled out of thin air.Originally this was a cutesy little sketch that went something like this-
Emperor Haru "hug me"
War Minister "no gtfo"
Emperor Haru "<3<3<3"
War Minister "...fine whatever -__-"
- But as I was colouring it, I came up with a more depressing take on it... The minister, Rai, looks pretty sad... Hugs are nice and all, but the person hugging him is the kid of the previous emperor (Kazeka)... The emperor who Rai would have grown up alongside, been hired by, fought for, and saw die.
Kazeka's son, Haru, now that he's grown up to be emperor himself, probably looks, sounds and acts an awful lot like Kazeka at times... that's got to be all kinds of disturbing for Rai, who I imagine sometimes momentarily forgets that there's even a difference between the two of them, and has to remind himself "this isn't Kazeka, kazeka's dead."
Damn. There should be a rule against hugs actually causing post traumatic stress disorder reactions.
Keep it together, war minister.

Awww, what a sweet moment. It's sad though that Rai might be reminded of his father while being hugged. I imagine he was dear to him.
Ahhh and again, the coloring, so lovely! I love the patterns on the clothes, too!

Did Kazeka and Rai have a romantic relationship? The more I hear about them, the more it seems like they were at one point, or another, lovers.

... You caught me there. I literally can't write a story about two guys without it slipping into bromance territory X'D. But yeah, they were a bit like that.. more in the "we'll always be together and protect one another" way than actual bed parterns (is that even a phrase?) but there was definitely a lot of hugging and stuff going on back then XDD
