I get stranger every day, and so does my work.This is something from the sketchbook that I am oddly attached to. I found a photo of a girl (if I knew who you were, I'd show you!!) with the most perfectly shaped face, this is what I made of her.
Ink, graphite and colored pencil on sketchbook paper. (2004)

I don't know who your reference was, but it is a wonderful picture. I really like the hair a lot, and her eyes are lovely.

I can see the resemblance, though she wasn't my refrence. (it was a girl I found playing around on Google, actually. Do wish I knew who she was, though all I really used of her was the shape of her face

Thank you so much! It's so great to know my recent hair fixation is paying off, so to speak. I keep drawing these masses of hair, who knows where they come from... Maybe I don't want to know.

I simply love the shape of her lips, though I'm not entirely sure why. The texture of the makeup is just lovely, and the little tear-like dribble stains under the eyes really add a nice little emotion to the image.
The thick outline around the figure is very dramatic, I'd love to see some more variation to the lines 'within' the image itself. Especially around the ears, nose and jawline, I think that could really help this image pop out all the more. That nit-pick aside, this is beautiful. There's a lovely bitter sweet feel to it, wonderful work.

You know, you're right, I've been doing certain things to my art out of habit lately, and variation would be such a nice change (and I could use the work on line quality). Yes, I shall take that one to heart, and see what comes of it... Thank you!

Maybe, but it wasn't either anyway. It was green. (Expletives) new scanner, I don't know how to fix the color settings, and I gave up after an hour trying to tweak with Photoshop...

It's the runny eye makeup... I think I am obsessed. And the yellow... grr. It WAS green, but my scanner betrays me, as ever. And so I am learning to live with yellow...
