Description
Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree.
~ EmilyΒ BrontΓ«
The fall has always been one of my favorite seasons and has grown dearer to me over time. I've always loved walking among forest trails during any season, but there is a particular glory during an autumn walk. The brisk air and the changing palette of the leaves from greens to crimsons, golds, and russets have always held a magic for me. I love the sound of crunching leaves under my feet. And when I raise my eyes to look at skies, the way the dappled sunlight filters through the multi-colored canopy of leaves has always been so heavenly to see.
My life gets too hectic, and my brain is too full, but walking in the forest today, especially after an intense training week helped to remind me that there should always be time for rest, reflection, and changing of the guard. So, as my feet wandered among the aisles of Nature's cathedrals, my thoughts turned to the sweet, spicy taste of hot apple cider, the crunch of biting into honeycrisp apples, curling up with my loved one and watching scary movies to jump and scream, clutching at my chest!
And yes, that brings me to Hallowe'en, my favorite holiday of the year! I love the pageantry, the treatses, the thinning of the veil between this world and the next. And that reminds me to tell you that I indulged in my annual Hallowe'en tradition this past weekend - watching "The Nightmare Before Christmas"!!! ππ»ππ
