Description The amazingly generous and talented FisticuffsandWords was inspired from one of my tales and decided to write a fanfic that would close the open-ending that my original text had established. Since I'm making my departure from DA in a couple of weeks, FisticuffsandWords wanted to gift me a parting present. Though it was intended for my eyes only, I asked if I could be allowed to publish on my page and also him to do the same. Dear Reader, I hope yuo are as moved as I was as I read this poignant tale of Jessi the vampire and her long-lost lover, Dragos the werewolf.

Suddenly Dragos sat up. His emerald eyes went hard, and a low growl rolled past his lips. His more human aspects slowly slipped away, his body shifting into his wolf form, and his ears perked up. Jessi looked around, “What is i-“ but he didn’t need to answer. She felt it too.

Something had intruded in their sacred space, and from the growing presence of its monstrous power, it had no intention to leave.

Dragos stood up with his teeth bared as his jaws ran hungry for blood, “Do you sense it?” He asked with a snarl, and Jessi nodded, “I do. It’s one of the new ones.” Her words were accompanied by a grim tone. Dragos’ eyes went soft for a moment as he looked at her, a look that said he knew what could happen, and he was right.

In her desperate search for her lover, Jessi stumbled upon some leaked information from the EUSRA about these variant New Supers. They’d been born from the couplings of other Supers during Hunger Strikes and proved to be more than difficult to deal with, even for Jessi. She had to run for her life from a new type of Vampire Super offspring that narrowly missed her heart with spears for fingernails. But it was a good thing Jessi was more than a seductress.

Jessi rushed over to her strewn clothes about the ground and snatched up her red rope. Dragos howled out his challenge to the one who dared to defile their precious moment, and his muscles flexed as he bore his claws. The couple stood together, tall, naked, and unafraid of the challenge that approached them. But Dragos felt the need to do something, one final thing before it all. He turned to Jessi, and he gently took her hand in his, “I’m always your wolf.”

Dragos suddenly turned to the right, but his reflexes were nothing compared to those of the newly improved and younger Super of today. In a flash, the creature collided with Dragos in a grey blur of fury, and the two entangled beasts rolled and slashed at one another until Dragos let out a sudden yelp of pain. Jessi growled from the sound of her wounded lover as she searched for an opening, but each time she spotted one, Dragos was moved by the New Super and used as its own personal human shield. Jessi growled through gritted teeth, “Bastard. I’ll rip your fucking spine out.”

The New Super suddenly stood up, and in a split second, rushed downwards and clamped its mighty elongated muzzle down onto Dragos’ shoulder. Jessi’s big bad lover roared in agony, but he soon proved why it was he that captured her heart. In that same instance, Dragos slashed his claws upwards through the assailant from belly to chin, and the New Super yipped as it released its vise grip and lunged backwards. Blood stained the sacred green field that belonged to the lovers, but the New Super’s healing abilities even surpassed their own as the deep gorges made by Dragos’ claws vanished.

Jessi immediately rushed to her partner, and fear took her heart. She didn’t notice how much damage it had actually done to him during their tussle, and the large, long gashes that lined the torso of her lover dropped her jaw to the ground. She turned to their new foe, and hatred flared from her eyes. She hungered to rip this thing into a million pieces and use its bones as kindling for a fire for all to see!

Dragos panted as his eyes remained on their foe, “Don’t let him…claw you…” He said as his own massive claw pressed against his wounds, but it proved hopeless. Blood seeped between his fingers, and Jessi gasped in realization. His rejuvenating healing wasn’t working like it should, and a low, heinous cackle came from across the field. Jessi stared at the mutant New Super and took in the visage of their Goliath.

The New Super looked like a Lycanthrope, but there was something dreadfully unique about it. Its hollow yellow eyes contained a mesmerizing power, much like her own, and its slathering jaw bore two long fangs that protruded down beyond the typical reach of a Lycan’s razor-sharp teeth. But for all the terror this creature induced, its claws held her focus the longest. It had the same long, bloodthirsty nails of a werewolf, but there was a wicked glisten along the edges, something that refuted Dragos’ attempt to heal. “That’s not only a werewolf...” She muttered as Dragos stood on wobbly legs, groaning as he raised himself up beside her, “That’s half vampire.”

As if their enemy understood their plight, The New Super leaned its head back and made the sickest sound she’d ever heard. It was a cross between a howl and a hiss, something unholy that belonged in the depths of Tartarus, and by some gross joke from the Gods, it found its way here. The vile intruder leaped across the field in a millisecond, and a grey line blurred out in front of it as it bashed the head of her lover. The older werewolf whined and skipped across the love-stained grass like a rock across a pond until he abruptly stopped.

Dragos laid there motionless, and not a sound followed.

The creature admired its handiwork with a pause before it returned to its next victim, but that was all the time Jessi needed.

The blonde Vampiric Goddess slashed at the open flank of the mutant werewolf vampire, and the creature howled in agony as her knife-like fingers ripped an opening in its torso. The stench of its blood was so pungent that it made her gag, but she quickly ducked down as it lashed out at her. Jessi watched with fearful amazement as the wounds from her own hands disappeared before her eyes, and the New Super bore its blood drenched yellow teeth at its Vampiric challenger with a smile.

Faster than Jessi had ever seen, the New Super was upon her, and it ravaged her torso with a mighty slash across her stomach. Her ears were filled with the repulsive squelch of her skin flayed from her body, and the sudden pain shocked her to stillness. Her eyes went agape, and her mouth spurted blood as the New Super slashed again, depraved and focused only on death. Jessi retreated and guarded herself as best she could, but over and over the gigantic razors carved away her radiant figure. She desperately tried to glimpse at her lover, but he remained still, a boulder of fur and love silent against the cold ground. Her heart cried out for her to fight! She couldn’t fall here. She couldn’t let this thing take her and her lover away! Not now! Not like this!

Jessi quickly retreated and tried to force herself to heal. But nothing reacted, nothing answered. The only reply to her efforts were more daggers of pain that stabbed and gouged her body. The New Super suddenly appeared before her, and it confidently brought up its massive right claw with nails that glittered in the blood moon. Its mouth opened and provided a welcoming from Hell itself until it released a stomach-wrenching hiss as it swiped down.

But Jessi wouldn’t die so easily.

Rolling under the wild cut, Jessi leaped for safety, but part of her shoulder was still caught in the act. She cried out in pain from the canyon dug into her skin, and blood stained her fair beauty. Jessi wheeled around and unleashed a speedy flurry of slashes as she roared through her attack, her hands turned into daggers as she caught the New Super completely off-guard. The mutant’s skin and blood sloshed against the ground as it retreated, but Jessi wouldn’t let that thing get away! No! This bastard would suffer her wrath! It would feed them tonight!

“OH NO YOU FUCKING DON’T!” Jessi cried as she rushed after the retreating foe; she would steal its breath, coat herself in its life for this heinous interruption! But as she gave chase across the field, the creature halted. And turned.

Faster than a blink, the New Super was behind her, and a long slash burned across her back as claws raked through her skin! The sheer concussive force of the New Super’s attack flung her body down into the ground, and her eyes rolled in her head. A daze stole her vision, and the mutant tossed her like a ragdoll across the once soft bed of their love.

The New Super chuckled as it towered over her, staring down with an ominous power. This beastly tower before her crafted of vile skulls imposed an unmatchable dread on her hope. Empty, dead eyes dwarfed her resolve. She was frozen, and her lifeforce slowly seeped into the ground beneath her as she struggled to gulp back her horror.

The New Super reached down with one claw, wrapped its monstrous grip around her throat, and easily hoisted her into the air. The weakened and bloody Jessi floated in space, nearly lifeless and ready to take the afterlife voyage bound for the unknown shores. Groaning through panicked lips, Jessi’s hands clawed to release herself from the tightening clutch. But it was of no use. If she could only reach its head, maybe she could claw something out, or rip its head clean off! But it was pointless. Her reach wasn’t long enough, and darkness slowly crept into her vision.

Suddenly she was greeted by the ground, and she coughed and hacked her freedom as she stared up at the New Super…who wasn’t alone. Held out before the creature’s chest was its still-beating heart, viciously ripped through its body from behind in a filthy and glorious display. Its heart beat slower and slower, clutched in the angered claw of Her lover, her werewolf, her man. He had risen from the grave at the most opportune moment, and the sight inspired Jessi as she immediately sprang into action.

The New Super stared down at its own heart held inches away from its chest, a light confused moan coming from the deepest pit of this unholy creation. Its head lazily rose as Jessi rushed in with her hands, her fingers morphed into trowels that sought to unearth every unworthy ounce of this creature’s life. The New Super had no moment to plead, no second to ask for surrender. There would be none given.

In one swift swipe of lightning, Jessi’s hands ripped its mind clean out of its head, and the two fated lovers obliterated the organs in their hands in unison with a smirk.

The New Super groaned a wild and wiry high-pitched plea as it staggered about, but the death-drunk creature didn’t travel far. Within two steps, it fell to its knees, and with one final breath, it collapsed to nothing.

Jessi and Dragos’ eyes wandered back to one another; the disbelief so thick that it nearly doused the heavy sweat of their earlier lovemaking. Dragos’ wolf-like form slowly slipped away, and his more human appearance gave her a joyful smirk…until his tattered and beaten body fell to the ground, and fear swallowed her smile.

Jessi flew across the gap in moments, her own body ready to collapse and give in to the nullifying wounds, but she refused it as she rushed to the side of the one man she loved in this hellish abyss.

Weak coughs ran his blood down his cheeks, but even in the throes of death, he smiled as he looked at her with his deep, stormy eyes. His crimson-stained hand reached up, and Jessi took it in her own and placed it against her cheek, “I’m here.” She said weakly, and her body tremored from the agony of her own wounds. But her eyes remained glued to his withering, resilient gaze.

Dragos’ mind sped through everything he ever wanted to say to her, every conversation he ever played out, every silly joke he wanted to tell her. But the only thing he could muster to say was this, “I’ll see you…again…”

Dragos’ breath sped up, and Jessi laid down next to him as he tried his best to cuddle her in his arms. Neither one of them had anything left, and they both stared at each other as their eyes slowly gave in to the darkness. Dragos whispered with his final breath, “I…lov…” but the shadows whisked him away before he could finish saying what she already knew.

Jessi listened as his heart slowly stopped. Tears rolled down her cheeks as her own end neared, and it couldn’t come fast enough. She gripped the last bits of warmth in his hands and let out a heavy sigh against his chest. Her vision faded, and her body slowly drifted away from this place. If this was to be it, then at least it was with him, at least it………………..

The two bodies of the lifeless lovers laid there motionless, a picture of perfect love in an imperfect world.

Jessi suddenly gasped as air returned to her lungs! She spat up gushers of blood, and her hands clung tightly onto the cold grip of her love as her fresh warm crimson fluids splashed against him. Jessi looked down at her ruined state, and to her surprise, her healing had finally kicked in, however it moved so slowly that it was almost barely noticeable. Jessi gritted her teeth as tears streamed down her face.

“no…No…GOD DAMNIT NO!!!!” She cried at the sadistic blood moon that snickered at her suffering as it made its descent. But then, a soft song graced her ears, one that she at first heard as a warning, but now…perhaps…it was a call from her ferry. A final invitation to follow Dragos where no other dared to follow.

Jessi wiped her eyes as she looked down at the deceased Dragos. The smile that he fought to keep on his face remained, and she laughed through her tears, “You…who knew…you could make me laugh…even…now…” She said as she wept through her sadness. Then, as if a bugle called to her from the heavens, the initial jingle of horns of the song that sounded the end of the Hunger Strike played in the distance. And for the first time ever, she finally understood it.

“Do Do doo Doo Doo…Do Do doo Doo Doo…”

Jessi laid her head against Dragos’ chest, and wrapped his heavy, cold arm around her waist.

“Somewhere…”

Jessi’s tears rolled down his body as she gently rubbed his stomach with her hand.

“Beyond the sea…”

She gripped his hand tightly and ran her palm along his cheek. His sweet, chiseled, gruff cheek.

“Somewhere…waiting for me…”

Her supple lips fluttered out a final kiss upon his chest, “I’ll see you soon.” And as she laid there, she took in a sight she hadn’t seen in ages.

A Sunrise.

“My lover stands on golden Saaaaannnds…”

The sunbeams blitzed across space and to her heart in a second, but the warmth that covered her body couldn’t compare to the warmth she once held in her arms, the warmth she longed to return to. She tightly gripped the lifeless form of Dragos as she braced herself for her final sunrise.

“And watches the ships…”

Jessi’s beautiful form glowed bright for only a moment before it burst into sharp flames. But there’s no pain, no suffering, only the inconvenience of time until she joined him on the other side. Her sensual figure that once haunted many Supers dreams morphed to ash, and the outline of her body remained atop Dragos and stretched out into the grassy bed they once called their own.

“That go sailing……”

The wonderful artist throughout this series has been I've had such a great pleasure to converse and work with him. His art page is one of my favorite places to visit on DA for non-fight fare! Please show his page some love!!!
