Description
The Drawing: I was going to draw another set of armor, but ... the figure made itself impossible to alter. I am very proud of her form/shape.Instead of singing at karaoke last night, i drew ... it's so much more fun.
I need to practice my shading techniques. Because i only used a blue pencil, it was really hard for me to scan this to accurately show the range of blue ... *shakes fist at scanner*

Very natural feeling pose, it doesn't look forced at all. The only problem I can see, aside form what someone mentioned before about the head bring a little too big, is her right arm is too small. Otherwise, terrific work.

nicely done ms. jessica...great job on the figure and pose...it has a very lifelike quality about it...very seductive eyes as well...great job giving the impression that she has shifted her weight to the left leg...which i think it would have to be...the lifted leg is a nice touch as well...this def deserves a

thank you very much, i am very glad that you liked this image. i had the help of a friend to heighten the "appeal" of the figure. I am sometimes an idealist and in some parts of the image a realistic and he helped me bring both together with good advice.

Well, this image (While very well done) looks to be of a figure in soft light, so heavy shading wouldn't be necessary. Shading figures is pretty simple when you get the hang of it. Just pick a point of origin for the light, and darken the areas opposite the light and leave a few highlights on the areas facing the light. You already have a good understanding of human form, so working with the contours of the figure shouldn't be a problem for you.

There seems to be more than a hint of yourself about this picture, especially in the face. Might be just my imagination, but it was my first impression.

Nice, why do you like drawing in blue pencil? I know everybody has their thing, I would like to know your reasoning. I am a basic pencils person, occasionally I will use a light redbrown to add extra detail before I darken it in. But when I do big charcoals I stick to vine followed by finishing with compressed.
On another note, good drawing. Great body work, only thing I would say to watch is is the head/body proportion. The head seems a bit big for the body.

i have a tendancy to do that with heads. at first i drew it too small (seriously small), and redrew it.
