Commission by who wanted another reef dragon and.. I .. .uh.. went over board. Hopefully she doesn't mind that I stuck two in instead of one *chuckles*Anyway, done in mixed media, colored pencils and watercolors and... now my hands hurt so I'm gonna go to bed. Yes. Bed. Delicious bed. mmmmmmmmmmm.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

both under and above water scenes are always interesting with water color, yet another example, but um... what this reminds me of it in fantasia (the Disney movie) they show that "night lady" swooping over the sky and making it night, and... this is precisely what i though of when i saw it, its like... the under sea version of that "idea"
though im fairly sure it wasnt your intension, its a cool effect ;D

*laughs* I find it hilarious that everyone focuses on the mermaid, who was just a quick scribble in the background *grin* I'm gonna have to do stuff like that more often.

Very impressive watercoloring! I scarcely reserve patience for watercolors, but they can give such a cool visual feeling! Very nice picture.

Wheeeeeeeeeeuu.... bet watercolor helped speed things up a bit, but jeebus lookit all that detail!

ahah well it's not so much that it speeds it up, with all the watercolor layers I do it ends up taking me a stupidly long amount of time to paint. The only watercolor were the huge rocks and the water in the background. But it sure was easier on my hands x.x

It's a true FEAST to the eyes & all of the details are absolutely stunning! I love the ocean, reefs & the mermaid in the background. I love the 2 Reef dragons. I'm sure ur friend will LOVE it to pieces.

It's certainly getting boring for you to read the same ol' complimenting comments over and over again .. but I've run out of great ideas of what to write .. soooo yeah, another lovely work! Details, colours, style .. couldn't tell that I don't like anything about it ;D

I really like the facial design on the elder one (I say elder, but bigger - I don't know. It looks sagely). It makes me think of the 'dark crystal' movie, but I couldn't explain why. Maybe the wise and exotic nature?

He's definitely influenced everything I do. Maybe the beak is similar to the baddies from the movie? *can never spell their names*

ahhh! Thank you lovey! I'm so glad it turned out, I was getting really anxious when I went all detail crazy. The scan still kind of makes all the beiges and oranges blend together but on the original there's some good seperation, so I'm happy.
