I’ve always been a sucker for a sunset print. Wait. Correct that. A GOOD sunset print. I love it when the artist finds that perfect moment when the colors of the setting sun reach out and grab me by the eyes (yes, I said the eyes), pulling me into the scene with supreme effortlessness.
However, I also like them when they’re not the typical “white beach and palm trees” type of sunset picture, either. Those, in my opinion, tend to be rather overdone and impart of sense of having come out of a cookie cutter.
Having said that, I must commend the artist for her vision in using the trees and local vegetation in her area as a natural frame for this particular sunset, without letting it take over the print or become a hindrance or a blemish in it. The timing in it is perfect as well, the edge of the sun being seen just over the horizon, letting the viewer know that the artist is not just taking a picture of the beautiful sky but of the sun itself.
