Description
This is one piece of two for my advanced illustration final. We picked a fortune cookie out of a bag and drew an illustration of it based on our Chinese and American horoscope. My fortune was "Others take notice of your radiance" And for this one the subject is the snake, which is supposed to be mysterious and charming according to the Chinese horoscope.Critique encouraged.

I do really enjoy the colors in this piece, especially those used in the skin tone for the guy in the foreground. The female figures dress is also very interesting.
One thing that bothers me a little are the figures in the background. They seem to hover in this awkward space between blending into the background and being whole, rounded figures. Part of me either wants to see them more considered in their rendering, or less detailed.
The composition is nice, I like the way the main figure is breaking the 4th wall, and the painting in the background is a nice touch :]
