I'm not promising anything, but I sort of have an idea for a story brewing in my brain that involves mythical and mystical figures.So, according to a couple articles I read around the web, the oriental unicorn goes by a few different names, like 'Kirin' or 'Qilin', or 'Ki'lin'. Whichever one, most often they basically serve as a good omen, or good luck, and then there's also a kind (that goes by one of the other names) that has the power to sense the good and evil in another being, and if that other being is evil, or has bad intentions, the unicorn stabs them with their horn.
I haven't read enough yet to say if any of this is really accurate, but then again it is just fantasy, so, whatever.
I'll just go by this info for my version of Kirin.

Unicorns are not in my greatest of interests, but the ones you drew here are fabulous.

That's pretty accurate. The Japanese version is called the kirin while the Chinese is the qi'lin. Also, the kirin is said to make an appearance at the births and deaths of great emperors.
