Description The meaning behind my piece is Mateship hope and love..

There are three different photos used in this piece.

The heart – I used two tone rose petals for the heart border. The Colour yellow being part of the condition of entering an artwork.

If you follow the line of a love heart you will notice that there is no real starting point or ending point – it just keeps going, like our love for our family and friends. My dog is my family, he is my best friend – HE IS MY LIFE.

The rose petals were then scattered on Shaq’s grave after the photos was taken.

Roses – The two whole roses placed in the bottom right corner sybolise Spring and new life.
Every year new flowers, new people and new animals are born into this world.
The birth of Zeus in Spring brought new hope for me.

Zeus – My 5 month old White Shepherd. (NB: In this photo he is only 6 weeks old)

My old best friend Shaq (our familes Jack Russell) passed away just over two years ago, he was the light of my life. I’d come home from work or school and he would be there at the gate, waiting to greet me. He loved his walks, he loved his food, he loved to laze about in the sun, he loved life and I loved him.

Exactly two years to the date of his passing, there was a litter of White Shepherd puppies for sale. Two days later I went to see them, Zeus was the last male in the litter and was shy and timid as he was left with 5 females who I guess you could say ganged up on him. On the third day I took him home.

Sometime I like to tell myself that maybe Shaq was behind it all, like he is watching over me in some way. I know it sounds silly, but it helps with the loss of him.

I do infact believe that Dogs are Mans Best Friend.

Your dog is your friend, your partner, your defender.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He is your's, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

NB: This was my first attempt at using Photoshop for uses other then editing brightness etc.
