I'll start by saying you have incredible design skills. The detail you put into the belt and the textured print of the skirt is flawless. Your shading and general tracking of the light on this piece is very well done. The dark to light bg vs. the crossed sabers seems intentionally in opposition to weight your composition, but unfortunately comes across as awkward. The pose seems stiff which is unfortunate considering the subject. Her hands are way too high on those hilts. All in all this is a very accomplished piece held back by pose and position of key elements. I saw in your comment stream that you start with only a few lines before painting. Maybe fleshing out your frame work would lend to fluidity of motion. I hope this helped in some way. Peace

Awesome pistol! You have some things perfected...gradients and renderings of metal ect...If you could only get some swagger in your characters you would be a dangerous foe. by swagger i mean less stiff on the poses. I commented to you about this before...creating weight in your characters would increase the overall flow of your illustrations. It all starts at the beginning of your illos. This is greatly painted...but stiff nonetheless. Always dig yet stuff looking forward to seeing more
