Description The Four Elements appear in many different forms. For *wolf-wind 's contest, she has allowed us to represent them how ever we want. I chose animals that are associated with the elements fire, water, wind and earth. The hardest to think of was the Fire element. It started as a dragon. A very nice looking dragon, i quite liked it... But, to keep it slightly realistic (As realistic as a catfish with a bowtie), I went for a salamander, which are said to come from fire. Named Mander (the layer name), He's my favourite. Look he's got beads.
A kestrel in a cravatte. He's a bit fat, too. Moley, with his dirty coat; Inspiration from Wind in the Willows and Redwall. He looks a bit grumpy. Wouldn't you, after having to hold this ball up in the air for ages?. A catfish with a bowtie made from seaweed. Why not?! I picked him for his whiskers.
~kaykaykit 's great bubbles again, and method of water.
Well I'm very happy with this; I did the animals last night, and finished the orbs and background today.

Thanks guys! Please leave your opinions, and not just fave it. If you can see itty bitty things for me to change, lemme know! Would you rather just see one image?

Edit: Flip it!!

I really like your picture. Not only the looks, but the story behind it as well.

You are indeed talented. I would love to see how a cat looks, when you draw it (yes, I am cat fanatic!)

I like this very much. The wind pretty much suits the hawk...or falcon. I like the catfish and that mole thing. I love the lizard, salamander. People have to know the animals of elements. A lizard is fire, a fish is water, a bird is wind, and a mole is earth. Somethin' like that.

I love your work, keep it up!

Thank you very much I wanted to keep the animals 'down to earth' so to speak. Or not mythical. And I'm glad everyone's cottened onto that!

Though my star sign says I'm fire, I love air, hence I have pegasus tendencies!

Air is my favorite element too! Hurrah~! I like it 'cuz it's like gentle but powerful at the same time.
Here is like...MY way of the elements.

Fire: Wild but raw. Strong but have a limit. Can rid anything in it's path for a certain amount of time.

Water: Gentle and peaceful but powerful when disturbed. Nothing can survive under it if needed air to breathe. Can only be stopped if there is no more of the same element.

Earth: Still and strudy but can destroy itself. It is the very land we need to live but can sometimes turn on us with awful earthquakes. The only limit is if the power just runs out and needed to wait a few years for it to happen again.

Wind: Gentle, graceful, elegant, and patient. The very element needed to substain life and give off the air we breathe. When disturbed it can cuase much damage. Tornadoes and such. The only limit is for the wind to settle down and become one with itself.

PS. If your icon a horse throwing up a rainbow?

Great ideas! You're right, very descriptive!
Yes, one of my pegasus characters with super rainbow vomit power. Well, not intentionally. It's by *kalamu .
I love the little galloping icons I've seen around like yours. They have style and character. I'm tempted to ask the artist for one!

I keep meaning to sit down and redo this series of four elements, but my free time has been so limited!

Hellz yeah. I think outside the box if you haven't noticed. I don't like...have the same ideas as others. I don't use over-rated things. Here are a bit of examples.

Everyone loves the wolf now a days. What about the other animals? Some animals can bring the wolf down with such ease. I am one with speed. There are so many animals twice as fast as the wolf. The horse! I love the horse. It's just like the wind. Graceful and elegant. Free and wild. The horse is my animal symbol. I like the wolf but no where NEAR as the horse.

Darkness is another thing used too much. Sure, it's ok and all but too much and for too long bores the hell out of me. If it were me usin' darkness I'd use a SMALL amount. Not only that but I'd mix it with another element, to balance it out. Maybe half darkness and half water? Half wind? Fire? Anythin' but plain ol' Darkness! My favorite subplitical element is time. TIME! When the HELL do you see someone as the spirit of time. Barely anyone.

PS: Subplitical is not a real word. At least I think it's not. I made it up.

This is really great. Love the animals you chose, very meaningful. They've got names?

The salamander is called Manda, but thats about it! Thanks a lot. I've been trying to formulate a remake of this with the same characters, but it may come a long way away.
Thanks again!

i really like this! the backgrounds are cool, and the concept is original (in a way) ^^. the catfish looks a bit odd to me though, for some reason it looks like a whale.

Thanks
Catfish was a little odd- mostly in the fins. He's also lacking some gills. But I used a number of references so he didn't look like any other sea life. Is it his big chin that makes him look like a whale?

*shrug* I had to rack my brain to come up with it, but I've always known that they come from fire. One of those funny fact one carries in ones head!
