I hate to comment on the film. But should the line have not been. "If we eject the CORES..." seen as how he ejects several "cores".

I suppose. Just another thought hear. and apologies to Jetfreak. but since the warp core works off matter and anti-matter, and they were enveloped in the explosion...wouldn't they have been destroyed? Then again one could run it down to artistic license. Oh well. Sorry for discussing the film hear.
