I've always been iffy on the so called *purists* in the fandom, it's just another excuse to seem better than everyone else. Do you want a fucking medal while you're at it?

Appreciate the past, but don't put it on a goddamn pedestal. Remember how some Trektards collectively lost their shit arguing about some fucking pencil lines drawn on the original Enterprise model? That's the kind of fanatical crazy I'm talking about. One of the things I dig about doing TOS art is how utterly banal and vintage the aesthetics are. It's practically the most basic entry-level thing in Trek art (It's certainly the path of least resistance). You can do no wrong, and people are more willing to forgive concessions to the top-tier, plastic 1960's flavor. Yeah baby, yeah!

According to the creative fandomites here at Deviant, "constructive criticism" is listening to the same bunch of crusty fanbois over and over - for years on end. That's pretty fucking stale if you ask me. So much for diversity of thought. -- Amateur hour is bloody over. -- When it comes to fandoms, seniority does not always equal respect. That's just a thinly veiled way of saying your stuff gets preferential treatment over everyone else (Digging at DSC, TNG and especially TO fucking S is fair game). So don't pretend to be a saintly, judgmental wanker when you're equally guilty of the same juvenile outbursts towards other Treks. Don't pretend to ride on the coattails of legends like Matt Jefferies, and misuse their expert accomplishments to justify your mediocrity. Its a shameful display of insecure pretentiousness on the highest level. Building a little kitbash out of grandpop's ABC blocks to pretend that its some sort of engineering feat is one of the funniest mental images I've seen in a while. Thanks for the laugh you has-been.

Christ, even the Ace Combat fandom is starting to look good right now, perhaps its time to move on.
