he's 'clothing' looks rather complex: does that too have a meaning? and the crown? it's as if the colors are not radomly picked. (well i hope they're not

Yes, the crown has a meaning... each jewel in the crown represents one of the five Buddha families (each of which is associated with a different element and certain qualities). The clothing and jewelry is what a tenth level bodhisattva would wear.
