Created: February 22, 2018 [Complete]This has been a WIP for so long, it's such a relieving feeling to finally finish. But the next ability in the Copy Ability Challenge was beetle, and I wanted to do something special. So after a little research, I made Gooey's hat represent the Rainbow Scarab beetle! You can blame Animal Crossing for my interest in learning about nature^^

I don't know what else to say, so I'll just leave you with the fact that I'm beginning to love drawing grass. It's almost therapeutic, and blending different shades of green together is really fun

This is beautiful, tho! I wonder, is Gooey a really small qt-boi or is it a really big net? Oh, the mysteries of life, the wonders of his eyes and pokemon hidden on the grass! (Well, the last is probably not true).
Also: I really, really, REALLY love how you made the hat based on a Rainbow Scrab! Maybe most likely because I see it as reference to him being a Dark Matter (y'know, how recently they've given Dark Matter's swordman the rainbow sword) and his first ever apparition being in Dreamland 2 where you gotta collect the rainbow drops! 100/10, totz loved it! (And I'm so glad you bring back this blue-boi, I love him so much and I specially love how you draw him!!!!❤💛💚💙💜💖🌟). (WhichkindaremindsmeimadeagijinkaofFemGooeysincethere'soneinDL2butoopsiguess).

This is very cute ^^. A little critique though, is that the beetle itself is a more metallic-y color, so maybe you could have had more shading contrast in the hat. Good job otherwise

Thank you! I appreciate the critique- I know the beetle was a little more metallic, and I was going to add more of an effect, but I'm not super experienced in that field. And it looked so cute, I didn't want to butcher it and ruin the picture, you know? But I'm glad you gave me the suggestion, so thank you for that!

Youre welcome (: and a tip for metal shading, you usually have the base color;the highlights and shadow contrast a lot, plus metal is reflective as well. Hope it helps :0

Oh, and I'm gonna drop in another thing in color theory for you to explain why youre having more fun with grass: Green is a calming, creative color, helping your thoughts and creative flow, and lighter greens(especially mint green) are soothing/easy on the eyes. It's why hospital employees usually wear green, since it's scientifically going to calm down their patients at the very least somewhat!
So, there's food for thought for the day.
