My OC pals have been rambling about me neglecting them over my Pokemon friends, soooooo haha… time to introduce them one by one (NOT in chronological order lol)

This time, here’s the current Galar Champion, Lauren! She’s actually the younger twin sister of Victor, the previous champion. Since childhood, Lauren had always wanted to oust Victor even though the latter always cares for her deeply, considering him as an obstacle for her to overcome. She was super obsessed with defeating him and wanted to set herself apart from him as well, which she later admitted to me that was the reason why she dyed her hair from brown to blonde.

Nonetheless, when the day of the siblings’ confrontation had arrived, Lauren was surprised that Victor didn’t seem to have the vigor to fight in front of the crowd, and instead held himself back to let her win, not to mention that he had an empty slot. It wasn’t that when the battle was over, Lauren felt a hollow victory, as Victor finally admitted that his longtime partner Drummer the Rillaboom died during a battle by accident, and that he was planning to abdicate his title anyway since he was suffering from depression and anxiety during his reign thanks to additional stress that accompanied the title, and most importantly he just wanted her to be happy as she craved for it so badly. This was when Lauren finally realized her mistake and reconciled with him via a heartfelt hug.

Overall, I can describe Lauren as extremely ambitiously determined, as once she sets a goal, she won’t stop until she achieves it. Although in many occasions, she can come off as snooty and cocky, being proud of her title and knack of battling, she can easily have her pride being wounded when being criticised and mocked at. Victor once told me that she once sulked for weeks after being laughed at for being a wimp if she ever participates in the Hoenn Battle Frontier. At times she can also have a furious temper which even her mom is fearful of. Of course, she is ultimately good hearted and therefore loves her Pokemon greatly, feeling that they’re the only ones that understand her the most, but unfortunately she tends to spoil them a lot…

Her partner (or in this instance, former partner) is Barky the Boltund, who had been her best friend since the start of her Galar League journey when he was a young Yamper. Unfortunately, for those who read the story of my Nickit, Reina…you’ll probably know what tragic fate had come onto him. Lauren was devastated when he…sigh. Guess she’s having a hard time finding a new partner atm…
