Description Gasp! Generic Attractive Swimsuit Picture!

Four things I wanted to do with this picture:

1. Draw Alice. I've been in an Alicey mood again lately (well, a particularly bad one).
2. Draw a swimsuit picture. Because it's too damn hot and in hot weather you're allowed to draw them guilt-free.
3. Draw a totally front on-view. No sideways glances or easy 3/4 stuff like usual.
4. Not use any references. I just felt like challenging myself. The lineart had no reference, though Molly kindly leant me her anatomy for working out some of the shadows.

And... yep, overall I'm really happy with it actually. That's about it.

My only regret is the evil cheap feet cut-off of doom syndrome. I tried, but I just cannot draw bare feet without a good reference and losing a good 10 minutes of life from constant redoing.

I'd like to start off with the both the coloring and the scenery in this because I think they're two very big strengths of this with their smooth implementation and standing out. I especially love how that water and sky came out.

For Alice herself, her pose and expression really came out good in this. Her hair is another strength of this piece as well.

The lineart and shading are bit rough around where her knees are, so I would make them more smoother. As for the feet cutting off, it doesn't really take away from the overall picture since it's made fairly obvious by the way you got the pose angled and all.

Yeah, I get those rough spots as a result of where I haven't been able to keep my hand steady to ink one long line, so have to lift the pen and put it back down again to do another stroke. I did my best to eliminate them as much as possible when digitally editing, it's just a case of being more thorough in the future. D8 I always miss a few.

Thanks a load for the detailed critique Kev!

You're welcome. I sometimes have trouble keeping my hands steady as well, which is a real pain.
