Depicting the alert at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea on 23 November, 1963.
The B-57s pictured were part of an alert detachment ready to fly at a moment's notice.
Each aircraft had a live nuclear weapon in their bomb bay and had targets in North Korea, China, and The Soviet Far East. The squadron was on alert for 6 hours between 0400 and 1000.
This was part of the world wide military alert in response to the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
