Zaragholan cultists draw their powers from the Outer Realm. Its beings make powerful allies, but even experienced summoners can struggle to keep them under control. It can also provide a temporary refuge, or more rarely, place of exile. Few humans enter it by choice and fewer can survive there long.

Some Asmodean champions view it very differently. To them no act could be greater than carrying the flame of faith to this remotest of all realms, and nothing could be braver than fighting against impossible odds. Those who sacrifice their lives to this cause are said to be reborn as demigods; but any powers they attain mean nothing in the Outer Realm, where their mutilated corpses endure as the mindless puppets of inhuman zealots.
