i haven't been doing pencil sketches at all lately so i literally forgot how i used to do them i swear to god they used to look so much more complete?? idk maybe i just didn't shade so that's why
we're all super fast around here ahahaha xD i mean take away my markers and i'm finishing everything in 15 minutes
honestly i was confused at how i should do the eyes cause they weren't really shown on the reference picture so i was like let's make it hot asian looking eyes because why the fuck not

lol i can't say I know the feeling I'm usually doing everything with pen/pencil and paper. There are a lot of different pencils so maybe that's what you were thinking of?
That's such a short amount of time!!! And it doesn't look all that sketchy wow! Something like that would take me half an hour? And I'd never post it because its just the sketch for some reason I don't really like my sketches ^^|||

yeah and the texture of the paper is different tbh
like the first time i bought this sketchbook, that was cheap as fuck because i'd rather give up my family than spend more money than needed, the sketches looked so different because you didn't even have to try that hard on shading, it just worked so much better
though i still love printing paper for markers because it's so smooth
honestly you get a lot faster once you find your technique
i mean it's all up to finding the right way to make your guidelines and then just connecting the dots XD

I can't sketch on Canvas b/c of the texture regarding to everything else I would never know b/c I've never had a sketchbook that was any good lol they've usually all been the $5 ones from Walmart that aren't very good quality. I don't usually shade unless I have my fine tipped markers and I feel like spending another half an hour on it lol.
that's true!! I'm sorta finding my style still. it doesn't change much but in terms of shading and textured stuff, I haven't really known how everything works up until this year when I took an actual art class. Even then I'm still learning ^^
I'm like grossly obsessed about smooth and clean lol I'll post wips in statuses if I'm being commissioned or just like what I'm doing but other than that no way lol.

Djekwwmsk my animals aren't even that good I draw dogs mostly, I'm rlly bad at cats, birds I've never tried so like idek. Snakes are noodles, ferrets are furry noodles. lol I can't think of any thing else. I could try tutorials or find refs if you wanna leave how???
I'm better at natural stuff like the oceans/beaches, grasses and trees, maybe a flower if I try hard enough.

YES!!! Furry Noodles are my favorite -w- I wanted one but my mom says their rodents so she woudn't let me have one even though they're closer to cats then rodents like rat or mice (which are adorable I love them too)

omg that shits been bothering me for ages like how do you get weird animals like that as pets? i honestly thought that wouldn't be allowed? like i saw some people have raccoons and like how??? where do you get them??? i want one??

yo let me fucking tell you about eyes i used to struggle so much
but honestly you just have to find a shortcut that works for you
what i do nowadays is i draw a circle for head, split on half and then draw the line for where the eyes should be
and then add bigger circles for the eyes and make a little cross for the iris and boom they're great
however that doesn't make them look pretty so idk i should probably work more on finding a look that's good for eyes
since anime is too much, realistic ones i make too small, cartoony is weird... idk i gotta find something, but changing the eyes changes your entire art style so it's a struggle

i gotta look that shit up omg i remember a few years ago there was a story on the news about this old man finding a cat and taking care of it but the cat turned out to be a tiger and i think they left him keep it?? i can't remember but the idea of an old man walking a fucking tiger just improved my life on so many levels
honestly i noticed that for me at least it's influenced by the art i look at the most regardless if i like it or not
like i'm exposed to the arts that my friends make here a lot and boom look at my art morphing into a weird hybrid of their art
so basically surround yourself with the art style you like, copy what you like about it and eventually you'll get something close enough
i should probably look at art on instagram more often, people there are insanely good like it's legit stressing me out
