Description Hello everyone,
This is my finished product for the MYP Personal Project. Basically this was months of work designing and planning and things like that.

First -
A BIG thank you to all of you who supported me and contributed, whether it was simply just favouriting some of my things or commenting. And a HUGE Thank You, to ~WolfieOfDarkness because you helped a lot (commenting and favouriting), and that deserves a huge thank you .

There is no need to evaluate it any more because the time to do so has now passed.

And now to the part of evaluating me product. It would help if you answer these questions even if it is stating the obvious because I need those answers for the project. So answer them

  • Does it clearly show reference to the manga, Saiyuki Reload? (I know this is obvious, just answer it)

  • Does it look like it is inspired from traditional Japanese paintings [refer to bottom right panel] (Legends of the Kitano Shrine, The Miracles of Kannon, Birds and Flowers of the Four Seasons, A Long Tale for an Autumn Night) and traditional Chinese designs? [Refer to top and bottom right panel, as well as the bottom edge border and the Chinese characters]

  • Does it look like a traditional Chinese box? [Refer to www.google.com.au/search?hl=en...

  • (And finally) Are there an equal amount of Japanese (including the manga itself) and Chinese features on the box?

  • I would love it if you guys answer these because this would really help my project (the theory/research/evaluating part of it). And also because it took me ages to do this (both the project and this description...)

    Thanks!

Saiyuki Reload belongs to Kazuya Minekura, but the box belongs to me :3

    Thanks !
It would be cool if you answer the questions (I know it's been answered, but the theory part of the project kinda needs it answered... by heaps of people [ evil project...]), but if you don't feel like it, it's okay

1/ Yes, I mean I recognized them straight away.

2/ I'm not that well versed in traditional Asian paintings, but I can definitely recognize typical Japanese/Chinese perspective here, and the plants are spot on !

3/Here, I hope I'm not being too harsh, because the box is amazing, it looks very well done, and I can only guess the time and work you put into making it. But I don't recognize a Chinese design without looking at the photographs. And when I checked your link, I couldn't link the two boxes in my head, they look too different. But seing as the purpose of the boxes aren't the same, it's not a bad thing per see.

4/ I concur with ~WolfieOfDarkness, who says it better than me.

Hope it helps you ! ^^

Thanks so much !!! This helps a lot (really, I can't express how much it helps), even if it is harsh (which it's not considering I need constructive criticism and not many in my school can give much criticism because they've never heard of Saiyuki, nor manga )

OMFG THAT IS SO COOL!! and no thanks needed. I love to help

    as for your answers...

    1) yes. if you look closely enough at the outfits yes. (the only outfit that changed a whole lot was Gojyo's anyway ) but overall I'd say it represents Saiyuki in general seeing as you have to know the characters to know the changed outfits.

    2) very much so.

    3) I didn't know it was going to be a box but I'm amazed by it. I love the way you can actually store the mangas in there!

    4) (will sound like a total fangirl but....) considering the characters come from the chinese legend and they've been recreated into Japanese Manga yes for the manga. the Chinese box is a very nice touch to it as it's easy to store the books inside. the paintings themselves are what combine the entire thing together. again the cover goes back to the chinese lengend to japanese manga while the border gives it a sense of asian royalty (thinking of China mostly) and the lovely scenery makes me think of a small little mountain temple in Japan

hope that helps. and I let my inner geek out just for you! *hugs* now... WHERE CAN I GET ONE OF THESE?!!

Thank you so much! Yes it does help (a lot ! *hugs back*), and I am seeing if I can suggest it as a possible box set design because it kinda is also part of my project, but I don't see how or where I can suggest it :/.
You could get one of these by making one, but seriously, I am spent on effort just making one of these. But I must say it was pretty worth it
