Yûgi and Anzu - as kids, back in Elementary school. With a handheld the size of a brick (laugh all you want, 90s kids - the first GAME BOY was that bulky!
). Yûgi must've been quite da pimp on the playground, what with his grandfather owning a game shop. Just imagine the possibilities... Then, when everbody else's interests drifted away from gaming and toys during Middle school he probably became the weird kid, because he stuck to it.
I had a really hard time drawing Yûgi's hair because I PURPOSELY didn't go with the punk hairdo he sports during the actual series (something tells me his mother wouldn't have approved - mine certainly wouldn't have.)
Anzu, then again, was rather easy to draw.

This is a concept sketch for something I really hope to be drawing soon/at all. My muse visited me last night and I wrote a lot of notes.

It's like a scene from one of ObabScribbler's tories, and I really like that. Both of the characters look so cute here, Yuugi's hair looks so nice~

I'm still trying around with Yugi, but Anzu's design is about finished.
