Kai is someone defined by being self-reliable. With a strong distaste of dependence, he solves and pushes through things no matter what, being alone meaning nothing to him. This is part of his double edged sword of a personality though, festering in him negatively as emotionally bottled up and riddled with trust issues. Despite bottling his emotions, he has no problem lashing out aggressively. It's practically a form of outlet for him at this point.

Being described as basically an emotionally unstable loner with anger issues, he does have one better form of cathartic rest. Adventure, to put it simply. The sea breeze, the open wind and vast lands, the feeling of rushing adrenaline and discovery, wide skies, a tantalizing reward on the other side, yet the journey and act itself being sweeter than anything. It eases his heart and soothes his soul like nothing else. It's the feeling of being unrestrained.
