There's actually gonna be a fourth one, and the promo images i've seen are pretty dame horrifying. There's also a bunch of Game Theory videos trying to explain what's going on, for the most part it makes sense. But i'm still confused on a few aspects. Like the toy animatronics in the 2nd game. I think they were also possessed, but i'm not too sure

I also assumed they were possessed of some sort. I mean, faulty circuits can't do something so intense. I honeslty thought that the killer continued his killing spree and added 6 more children to his "to-kill list". And by the way, what the hell Baloon Boy is supposed to be?
A lot of theories are cool, but I admit that some raises more answers than they answers. Even MattPat can't cover all of the aspects of the story is his videos.
Also, I've been kind of growing to the theory that they are several Purple Guys. Not that I particularly appreciate it, but it's still interesting.

The Game theories do make sense. I'm pretty sure it's just one guy going around killing kids left and right. Bit more sound. And good question. The hell IS Balloon Boy? I don't think he's had a kid stuffed into him. In the game it just looks like all he does is go to you and attract the other robots. Not really flat-out kill you.

I'd like it be just one guy. More simple and striking. It's always nice to mostly only one "Big Bad".
As for the Balloon Boy, I've read he could somekind of hallucination, or a reminiscing image of the the innocence lost by the kids when they got killed and stuffed into the animatronics. A bit loosy, I guess, I kind of wish there was more to it.

Something I just remembered, but kinda like, but is also arguably confusing, is that the children possess the animatronics, therefore, have their own free will in these new bodies, yet are restricted by what the robots can do. Like in the third game we see they can't go into that safe room. Even for Springtrap, although luring him with the BB sounds could either be because of the suit's innate programming, or just because he feels like kid killing real quick. As for stuffing you into suits, phone guy kinda made it sound like it's a mistake the robots themselves do, but personally I could go with that or it's the kids being assholes

Well, regarding the kid's personalities, I'd say there not assholes, but rather empty sheels of what they used to be. Ghosts are roaming around because they have unfinished business, but they also lose the substance of what made them alive. Basically, the kids now are just restless spirits, out for revenge, remorsly killing anyone in their paths. That's the way I see it.
As for them being restricted to move only like an animatronic can move, it's quite an headscratcher, admitelly. The theory standqs pretty well, but this does bring the question of Golden Freddy : since when a animatronic suit can friggin' teleport?

I forgot about Golden Freddy, but since he appears in a poster to be in the room, I'd say he's either a hallucination like Shadow Freddy and Bonnie are (I think) in FNAF 2. Alternatively, at least somewhat ignoring the poster thing, since he appears when you look away from the camera, then leaves if you look at it again fast enough (I'm assuming that works in both 1 and 2) I'd say he's just moving fast, and when he leaves it's because...
well I was gonna say because he doesn't have the strength to put you in a suit, but since in 1 he crashes the game, and in 2 you're attacked be his zooming in head I don't know what he does. God that was a long sentence. And for the record, I was gonna negate myself by bringing up the fact he is a suit, and therefore can't move at all. Hm... Maybe it's just the spirit assuming the form of Golden Freddy deciding to appear sporadically.

Yeeah, but it the hallucinations explanation still kind of bugs. Seems to easy. But again, quoting Scott Cawthon, Golden Freddy is something he didn't predict to appear, he created the thing "inconsciously". Well, maybe he was bluffing, but it sure makes hard to draw conclusions.
Maybe the one that was shoved in Golden Freddy had a special role or something...

Man this fanbase is confusing. Maybe Scott'll pull something out of his ass for the loose ends in FNAF 4.
Cuz the only other answer I can think of is that BB's just a rouge, non-possessed animatronic, and Golden Freddy's more ghostly than the others. Or maybe Freddy and friends are just screwing with player with an empty yellow suit.

Yep, gotta wait for the sequel. My guess is it will unfold after the events of FNAF 3, given how f*cked up the animatronics look. Even during the Fazbear Pizza days, I don't think the company would pull of something as insane as that.
Regarding BB and GF, maybe they're unique because of the role they had in the story, by the time they were still alive or something. Who knows, maybe Scott will leave it up to interpretation.

I would think it's a prequel because the way Game Theory makes it look, the bad ending might be the cannon ending. Especially given the promo Nightmare animatronics. If I had to guess I'd say that the regular animatronics pulled a Mangle, and put themselves back together with what they had, and are probably looking for Springtrap.
Leaving it for interpretation may or may not be worse than flat out explaining it. I don't think I need to tell you that there are a shit to of theories flying around here, and a LOT of dedicated fans.
Although I think I'd just like to know if the toy animatronics were possessed or not. It's something I keep forgetting, and don't think anyone has flat out said. If they were, okay. If they weren't, okay. And hay, if the latter's true then maybe the nightmare animatronics are the amalgam of the toy and regular animatronics. Kinda Frankensteined together to move again.

Maybe some dude won the rest of the animatronics at an auction and rebuilt them? After FNAF 3 , I thought it would have been a plausible continuation. But the mangle thing could work. Or maybe it will be a game from the Purple Guy point of view, given how nightmarish they look.
Yeeaah,, you might be right. Sometimes revealing the truth just kill what makes a story or a mystery good.
For the toy animatronics, whe got no clear answer. Are they haunted? Busted? Or is the nightguard truly a criminal? Thing is we don't really know. Again, the Frankenstein theroy might work.

Fun fact I just remembered, there's actually Phantom Mangle in FNAF 3. It's just covered in a lot of shadow, I think because Scott didn't have a good model of Mangle on hand.
