It's been a long time since I did anything like this. I don't draw that often now so when I get the urge to draw I try not to ignore it. This time around I ended up drawing Katniss from the Hunger Games book series. Which was surprisingly good for a tween series. I roll my eyes at nearly every tween craze but when my boss suggested this to me I brushed it off before finally giving it a chance and was pleasantly surprised. It's post apocalyptic and very much like Battle Royale so it already had some points going for it from the get go. Hopefully they don't "Twilight-up" the Hunger Games movie too much with the obligatory love triangle.Pfffftt...my proportions and anatomy suck. I need to go back to life drawing like immediately :\

Your skills haven't seemed to rust in my opinion. Neither has your talent in color so I dunno what you're talking about.
I definitely can not and I mean NOT draw archers. The, bow the-string-arrow-angles it always messes with me.
You nailed it down nicely.
I hope the movies are awesome too, if not, there'll be riots
with sharp pointy objects

I noticed a big difference while I was drawing this. It took me twice as long as it should have and my anatomy is very off ugh... X[ the bow gave me some issues I think it's alittle big in comparison to the character and the bottom portion of it may be too long compared to the top portion. I dunno maybe I'm just nitpicking. In any case I'm glad that you liked it :]
And yes I will be very pissed off if the movie turns to shit. Nearly every franchise I'm in love with has been destroyed by the movie version.

That's me with coloring, I try as many shortcuts as I can but I wish there was a way to just paint bucket the flats in my pieces XD MS Paint style - but without the bad quality

The trick with bucket fill is that all your lines have to be closed. anytime I select and area to fill though I expand the selection area so that there aren't any ugly white spots. select>modify>expand. I do bucket flats on almost all my pics. OR you can outline the inside of the area you want colored with the pencil tool and then bucket fill the area that you outlined. Makes sense kinda?

Awesome Katniss drawing and unfortunately I read that the studio is going to beef up the love triangle. Ugh!!! Why can't they just stick to the books!!!!? Once again love the action in the piece.

My sci-fi teacher chose this as our novel study and I gotta say I was pleased with the 1st book (not sure about the 2nd and 3rd as I need to get around reading those).
I myself might do some more fan art of Katniss, though this is pretty nice.

Check out the 2nd and 3rd books they're equally as good. I'm a solid fan for sure. What I've seen from the teaser and the new posters the movie is shaping up. Hopefully it stays that way.
