Description
Every impulsive protag needs a level-headed friend to keep them in check. For Jim, that's Josh Martin.

Josh is a tribute to my longtime friend BlueLoneWolf's old OC, with his main sponsor, his species, and (eventually) the colors of his car and race suit. Interestingly, his race number appeared (by complete coincidence) on a Steelers jersey worn by said character in an old drawing. He's an up-and-coming late model stock car driver who accepts the invitation to the Global Motorsports Series after Jim joined. He modified his Lobo Drafter stock car with working headlights, taillights, a cowl induction hood, and a spoiler where the leading edge lifts to create a DRS effect. I decided to go with an older Monte Carlo as inspiration, simply because I think that's what people think of when they think "Nascars," and I'm not huge on the post Car of Tomorrow stockers. (Sorry Toyota, that is NOT a Supra.) This is the start of me using more animalistic features as well, especially the lower grille. Josh's last name is a reference to Mark Martin, as I didn't want to use Blue's real full name.

As usual, the profile is in the context of this series being an arcade racer.

Appearance: Tall, athletically built gray wolf. Mostly gray fur with white under muzzle, tip of tail, inside of ears, large mop of black hair. Blue eyes. Relatively strong, "Heroic," build. street clothing is polo shirt, jeans. Racing uniform is silvery gray with shoulder straps, collar, legs, back of torso being blue. Helmet is open-muzzle with a similar motif to his car.

Background: Reasonably successful stock car driver, Jim's best friend. Looking to gain more recognition as a driver, he converts his race car into a sleek, fast speedster. Tends to be Jim's voice of reason.

Personality: Level-headed and generally cool-tempered, though tends to get frustrated by Jim's excitability and some of the antics of his fellow drivers. Reasonably polite.

Vehicle: "Drafter," a vehicle based on an exaggerated mid '00s late-model stock car. Overall body resembles Chevrolet Monte Carlo, but with some canine influence, and with a cowl induction hood. Moderate acceleration, grip style car, moderate weight, high top end speed, somewhat better on asphalt than dirt. Average boost, but best slipstream in the game.

Sound: NASCAR V8

Boost Method: fuel profile change, rear spoiler lifts DRS-style into a shallow wing.

Main skin: Silver with wide blue stripe over the hood, roof, and trunk lid down to the rear bumper.

Notes: Allusion to/in honor of character!Bluelonewolf, particularly in the blue in the back of the uniform representing the fur of the original character.
