Continuing the topic of being honest with your opinions and all that, one thing I've noticed about me is that I have an easier time liking movies more than everyone else does than... Vice Versa... (and even when I do like a movie less than most people, I usually find it less good instead of outright disliking it Despicable Me 2 being the most recent example)

When this movie came out, a lot of people were saying that this movie was... Average at best... (and given Illumination's track record of The Minions Movie, Secret Life of Pets, and SING, I wasn't really surprised about that) so imagine my surprise when I find myself liking this almost as much as the 1st movie... ALMOST...

It seems Illumintion's strength is creative ideas for visuals and humor, and their weakness is making an original story. Here however, the creativity and humor seem to shine through (at least for me) and the story actually had a few decent twists (at least for me) Now, just remove the sub-plots, and maybe flesh out a few of your ideas a bit more, and this movie might've gotten an 8 or maybe even a 9 from me!

I really do Hope that this company improves the quality of their films, because I really do have a tad bit of faith that their movie ideas can legitimately live up to the money they make (at least the Mario movie... I'll be perfectly content if that's the ONLY one they do that ends up being truly Epic!)
