Description
Professor Anton Veeblefitzer, as a young man, recognized the potential for
his odd talents, to be expressed during WW1.
When Fokker's Eindecker series became obsolete, the German-High-Command
commissioned the Albatros Flugzeugwerke to design a replacement.
The result was the Albatros D1 bi-wing fighter (Please see Wikipedia for details
on the Albatros D-1). This, and the following more developed versions, were the back-bone
of the German Luftstreitkrafte for the duration of the war.
When PAV saw the first Albatros D1, he exclaimed: "Step aside, ye men of little vision!"
PAV took two Albatros D1 nose sections, containing the Benze Bz.3 liquid-cooled engine, rated
at 150hp apiece, and mounted them on a unique fuselage tandem arrangement.
PAV added a robust tricycle landing gear, with a flexible aft gear that ensured the rear propeller
would not strike the ground.
Armament was unprecedented in its firepower. Two 7.9mm (8mm) IMG-08 machine guns were mounted
in the traditional forward fuselage station, but, also four such machine guns were mounted aft of the
cockpit atop the fuselage. This gave the "Armadillo" as it was nick-named, a total of six weapons (!).
Taking advantage of its superior speed (I65mph) over everything else flying at the time, the Armadillo
could sneak upon an enemy from below, and shred it with those four m'guns (!).
The machine could carry four 50lb bombs, or two 100lb bombs, or a single 250lb bomb, for ground attacks.

Pre-production versions were deployed into combat, beginning in August 1916, and proved to be devastating
to the British and French air forces.
In this particular, and odd, Veeblefitzer universe, the Ve-10A Armadillo helped the Central Powers to defeat the
evil western European colonial, opium-pushing, oligarchs, and their mad schemes to rule the world, brutally, to
satisfy their insane desire to accrue absolute wealth, and Power!
