Love it! Great take on a character in your evolved style. The eyes (er...eye) has a new realism to them/it. More pupil than you used to insinuate. The "psychic knife" fist is incredible! Great use of white out (or whatever it is in that bottle that you use in the YouTube videos I've seen).

HUGE fan. Thanks for sharing.

Holy shit your black and white electricity is amazing. I never knew you could illustrate electricity or Plasma in her case, like that in black and white ink! I'm going to study how you did that and try to use it in my own work. Great job on this! Psylocke has always been hot to me lol

I loved your X-men work. The cover to issue 275 of Uncanny X-men was the book that got me back into comics.

I don't suppose you take one students do you? lol.

I remember seeing xerox's of pages of the Punisher/NickFury GN and it looked allot the way this does.

the way Jim Lee's work looks when he inks himself (which i prefer to be honest) it looks much different then when Scott Williams (or anyone else for that matter) inks him.

Although i kinda think when inks him, it "should" look more like this... but for some reason it doesn't

this seems more kenetic... powerfull... raw

geezone In reply to kuzuSkot [2009-03-19 00:38:04 +0000 UTC]

I like Scott and Richard's takes on Jim's lines. Scott more so, because it's always been that way. What I like about Jim's inks is that they break that trend. Usually, because finished art isn't the goal, a deadline isn't there providing pressure and fan expectation isn't present either. He can just muck about with toothpicks, correction pens or washes and be, as you said, kinetic. Not sure if it would be possible to reproduce that panel to panel, though.

oh, it's totally possible as panel to panel.

It's a crying shame that Betsy isn't featured in X-Titles at the moment. She's one of the finest mutants in existence (in both meanings).

Great pic, Mr. Lee.

I know there is little chance to none on this but any thoughts on doing something X related in the future? I started reading comics about 3 months before you first X-Men issue, needless to say that run was a huge influence on me and I'm sure a great many others as well.

Golden Oldies rock mate! Jim I think most of us here, drooling all over ourselves that your here and active, grew up reading books with your work in it. I think inspiration would be an understatement where most are concerned.

How does it feel to be immortalized in almost every comic artists mind? (Grins) Ahh more practice for me. (Laughs)

Keep on rockin'!

I am still holding my breath for a day & time when I can be graced with a Psylocke sketch by you. I've been lucky getting a Batman (Chicago) and Joker (NYC). But no one defined her character like you did for me.

I recognize the "Bravo Zulu" = "good job" tag. I work for the Navy as a civilian graphic designer here in San Diego. I worked for Jim, (well, for one of his inkers), back in the mid '90s.

You have an impressive gallery. I've added you to my watchlist.
