Description i took the photo on a trip to the local farmers market... they smell even better than they look. yum! every saturday, about a block from my house, a farmer's market is held. to me, nothing adds more life, flavor and vibrant color to a chili as red, yellow and orange bell peppers.

What a great picture! Focused, yet nothing graps your attention away from the complete image- something that is important in compositions such as this one... It is gorgeous, the colours are so vibrant!

BTW, congratulations on the DD- other pieces in your gallery are worth one too

thank you. i believe the flowers falling to the side helps draw the eye from right to left. the composition isn't truly via the "rule of thirds" but it still works.

thank you for the compliment. i'd like to think that my work is worthy of a DD, but then again... take a look at my favourites gallery- these are the artists who have inspired me. now, several of the artists in the gallery are truly worthy of a DD. then again, we all have a DD waiting to be discovered.

stuffed peppers? my favorite! my kids don't eat the peppers though so... now i dice the peppers and mix it all together- the kids will eat the peppers this way. funny too, we just had "stuffed" peppers this week.

WOW.. that's a real coincidence.. do you stuff em with what I said.. or other ingredients?

meat, onions, mushrooms, canned sweet corn (yeah it sounds weird but adds a sweetness), rice, garlic, black pepper, salt, cinnamon, the peppers of course, spaghetti sauce, sugar (sugar sweetens the sauce which can become bitter because of the peppers) and then topped with mozzarella cheese.

i generally have to make 2 huge pans and it still only last for 2 days in our house- it gets devoured quickly.

We have a farmer's market here and I keep wanting to go but I always forget. My favorite, though, is going to Pike Street Market in Seattle. They put out signs on their food that make me laugh.

several communities around here have farmer's markets but none of them are really huge (maybe 20 vendors tops). pike street? is that where the fish market is? where the fish philosophy was born? would love to go down there- you should definitely take some pics of that place in action. let me know if you do. should also take some pics of the funny signs... maybe create a series?

Yes, Pike Street Market is where they throw the fish and all that good stuff. I have been there many times and it is such a fun atmosphere! I will try to take pictures of all the little signs next time and make a collage or something. I have a few pics, but nothing great.

You would really like Pike Street Market. Besides the fish and the guys throwing them when people buy them, there are beautiful fresh flowers and pretty dried flower arrangements; tons of fresh produce with funny signs on them like, "Big Ass Grapes"; there's street performers (my favorite are a group of black men that harmonize to songs - I bought their CD); and lots of shops and restaurants. And if you see all of that and have time for more, just go out the back of the building and cross the street to the wharf where there are more shops, including the "Ye Olde Curiosity Shop", ferries that you can ride, and a trolley you can ride. There's also horse and carriage rides that you can take to the Space Needle.

What kinds of places do you have in your area that are tourist attractions? I think when we are used to something, it isn't as special as far away places...but that people who are far away find our places special. I guess we tend to take things for granted.
