you guys might recognise this 'ol motherfucker as being one of my most notable yuugiou variants from my olden days . Yes, that guy in the picture in the link? This is him. This is STILL him, only except i've worked on his looks so that he doesn't look too much like a lazy rip off of old series Yami no Yuugi.....Even though, his current design still borrows A LOT of elements from him..

While i was conceptualising his design, i intended for him to still resemble Yami no Yuugi as much as possible because his original purpose was to be a satirical take on the old Yami no Yuugi character. Ashita just wouldn't really be Ashita unless he's tied in to Yami no Yuugi somehow (also, in the story, Yami no Yuugi was his childhood hero. Mrs. Kitodama, the person who took care of him used to let him watch the cartoons as a kid to cheer him up after being separated from Kawaita. He admired the character for his indestructibility and has decided to take his guise in the belief that it would help make him feel invincible).

His final design was decided by Megumi Ogata's voice though. After recent exposure from some sample of her voice works, scattered around some video sites i frequent, i was inspired to flesh out Ashita's design in pixel form.

it was pretty much M.O's voice that gave Ashita his life and not, contrary to popular(?) belief - the song he's named after or the character of Yami no Yuugi. so i'd say this character was also made in tribute to her and her sexy voice.

and because it's made in tribute of her, there are SOME aspects of OTHER anime characters that Megumi Ogata voiced that Ashita's design borrowed from. can you guess who they are? ♥ ♥ ♥

MOTHER FUCKING SUMMER HEAT. if it wasn't so fucking hot right now i could've finished this damn thing PROPERLY. as you can tell, he doesn't even have his left "wing" drawn in yet and his flower....oh the flower! Ashita can't live without his flower! I'd have been better off drawing a running zombie ashita! :iconfffffplz:

i'm sick and tired of looking at this thing in the hot summer heat though, so i've put it up anyway....might actually FINISH the damn thing in the future though.
