Here's my app for this group. I tossed ideas back and forth for awhile and finally decided to go for it. It's something a little different than my Pokemon groups.

I just wish the transparency showed up better... her fins, tail tip and the seaweed petals are semi-transparent...but with the light background it doesn't show.

Sky Mapping – She is able to draw out and chart the position of the stars and other heavenly bodies in the night sky. This takes time and measuring to tell the difference between the positions night after night.

Navigation – Sirena can find directions using the natural world around. In most cases relying on the stars and moon as a directional point to locate where she needs to go.

Singing - She is shy and usually only sings while she is alone and working. It's not unusal to catch her humming while she works, but she will stop if she notices anyone around.

Personality:
Sirena is a dreamer. But that's not to say her head is in the clouds, because she is also very focused on her body of work. Now and then though she can be caught daydreaming as she looks up at the sky. She is a friendly person, and will usually be social as long as she feels she isn't intruding on the situation. When upset she usually keeps to herself, becoming quiet and retreating to her maps and charts. However sometimes it's hard to tell if she is just focused on her work or if something is wrong because when she is upset, she doesn't like to show it on her face. Not one to anger easily, she usually doesn't get into fights or arguments. Though in small fits of annoyance she had been known to knock someone upside the head with her telescope. Overall she is an imaginative but studious girl.

History:
Sirena was not suppose to be a Leviathan. Or at least that's what her parents had hoped. She was born into a long proud line of Dragons, a line that was pure.

Her father was at fault, he fell in love with a Leviathan woman. They kept their relation a secret, even marrying this way. When people asked him about his wife he covered it up and said she was just shy and never really left home. The couple had two sons, both Dragons, so they felt they would be safe with any children they had. It seemed the Dragon gene was stronger. Deciding to have one last child they were prepared to welcome another Dragon into the family, their secret still covered.

But that pregnancy was hard on the woman. She fell very ill and the birth drained her. Sadly Sirena's mother passed away only hours after she was born. But that wasn't the only shock her father had to face. His new born daughter had taken after his late wife, she was a Leviathan. There was no way to hide it now, and he wasn't going to give up his child to prevent shame from falling on him.

The clan elders were furious, but at the same time couldn't punish an infant. Plus Sirena's father had bore two Dragon sons, which helped his case. However they set some very strict rules about what Sirena would be able to do. She was not allow to take part in anything they held to be Dragon only honors, such as flying.

As she grew she knew she was different but she thought she was a Dragon like her father and brothers. However she couldn't figure out why sometimes other kids wouldn't play with her. Or why when they went swimming she could hold her breath far longer than others. And from what she could tell the other children didn't have the scales, or fins. Her horns were different too, as all the other Dragons seemed to have hard solid ones.

When she was about ten her father told her about her mother and about what she really was. However he left out that she was considered a bit of a black mark on a pure line. He loved his daughter and didn't want her to know that she was frowned upon. And it was for that reason that whenever she asked to go flying with him and her brothers he would lie. It was too dangerous, or Leviathan can't handle the thinner air of being up high... the excuses were many and she always believed them.

But Sirena was fascinated with the sky. And from her young age she dreamed about it. The stars and the moon as well as the other heavenly bodies always caught her attention. So she began to study them, some nights just sitting up staring into the darkness, trying to count all the little spots of light. And from countless hours of watching and studying she learned to chart out what she saw, keeping track of things like the path of the moon.

This would eventually become her profession in life. One day when she was eighteen she met an old Nekomata who was traveling. He was a scientist, or a retired one, and more important his field of work was Astronomy. He was impressed with her skill with charts and decided that she would be a great student. And with a new teacher she was set to learn everything she could about the sky she loved so much.

Her brothers, twins who adored their little sister, decided she needed a place of her own to study. So gathering help from friends they set about building her an observatory. They found a perfect place, in a clearing not too far from town, right next to a small lake. She would be able to see the skies clearly and if she needed to get to some water, it was right there. When the building was down Sirena was overjoyed. She'd spend hours there just looking at the sky while she studied with her teacher.

She still spends a lot of time there, even though her teacher has since passed on. She technically still lives at home but usually ends up sleeping in the observatory. Her father is always sending one of her brothers to go wake her in the morning. She may not be a child anymore but being the baby of the family sometimes she is still treated as one. Her dream is to one day discover something new in the heavens above... well that and to fly. But finding a new star or planet, as rare is it may be seems more obtainable to her. However Sirena still longs to, even just once, fly and to feel closer to the stars she loves so much.

Additional Info:

The scales that are in patches on her skin are all over her body. (will add reference later) They aren't really rough but smooth as if those spots are always wet.

The seaweed like horns on her head are very flexible. Sometimes her emotions show in the way the perk up or droop. The petals will also fall off if she isn't well or hurt.
