In the written version of the story (which I will upload again soon!) her parents didn't want them to date at all. Especially her dad, because he worried that he could accidentally hurt her. It's not so apparent in the comic, but in the novel, Sergio has an accident...Not with her, but with another cute living thing ; w ; Don't want to ruin it, if you hadn't read it before XD
Overtime he gains 'acceptance' of sorts, wherein her parents agree to let them move in together. But it'll be sometime before her father is 100% okay with them being together. He's a very hard headed person X3

I'm familiar with the type and thanks for the background. I'll definitely give it a read when it is up. So far I really like Sergio and Vero. I'm not personally knowledgeable about size difference styles, but they're cute in their interactions and how they care about eachother. I hope to keep seeing them and your work~!
