omg... thats like the exact same colour as one of my basses!
what did you use to put your design on there? did you just draw it on? and did you seal it afterwards? cos i wanna put some wicked design on my bass, but i'm too scared that i'll screw it up (the design) and never be able to play it in public again..

It's easy, don't stress. I've done it to several instruments now.
I paint my base coat, which is usually 2 or 3 layers with 15 minutes of drying time in between. Then I let the base dry for at least an hour so it can set.
Then I cover the thing in masking tape. You can also use contact paper. Contact paper would work better but you'd have to take all of the electronics and hardware out. If you don't want to do that just stick with masking tape. Then sketch your design on, carefully cut it out and remove the tape from those areas. You have to be carefull not to cut into the base coat because it'll leave weird edges to your design. It won't change the look but you'll feel them.
Spray your design. I do 2 or 3 quick coats within a few minutes. I like to remove the tape before it dries so that it doesn't dry with the tape edge. Then let it dry for 15 minutes to a half hour.
Spray on a clear coat and you're done.
I normally just use spray paint. I have used acrylic on one guitar, which was the first one I did. I air brushed it on and it's stayed well but it's not as hard, smooth, or shiney as the spray paint enamels.
I've had to be up all night at work... been up around 23 hours now so I'm not sure If I'm making sense or babbling or not. Hopefully this is coherent. IF not then leave me another message and I'll reply after I wake up.
Miah out...
