I’ve seen people so hyped for Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, that I started seeing them do their own fan made Smiling Critters, like how Nick over on GamerJoob is even doing a series of them called, “Forgotten Critters,” so I decided to do my own.

Meet Koalaby (Mix of koala and lullaby), after Catnap got recalled, PlaytimeCo went back to the drawing board to come up with a brand new critter to replace him. They are still interested in doing a character that teaches kids to get a good night sleep, but this time, not give them nightmares like that Prototype worshipping, nightmare causing, purple feline. The scripts for future episodes of the cartoon series featuring Catnap would replace him with this particular critter. When the designers at PlaytimeCo were trying to think of a good animal that sleeps a lot, someone instantly think of a koala. This person took a vacation to Australia a month ago, and saw a bunch of koalas sleeping on a eucalyptus tree. Everyone liked the idea, considering that koalas are very lazy animals, and would be suitable fit for the Smiling Critters. When tested, the dark blue koala doesn’t seem to give the children nightmares unlike the character he would replace, and was proven to be much better at putting kids to sleep than Catnap. However, it appears that this critter has not been released. PlaytimeCo has no idea why, but I have a feeling that I know who’s responsible……..

“Perhaps none of the critters is more chill and relaxed than Koalaby. Every night, he makes sure that he and his friends would get the right amount of sleep so that they can have enough energy to play all day. Koalaby may not be the most energetic of the bunch, but he will always be here to chill out with the rest.”
