Okay, I spent a ton of time doing this because I need to learn. I was having a huge problem with my shadows and rendering them out. This is still a personal practice piece so I can grow. To anyone waiting on a commission, I apologize. Sometimes I have to take some time for myself otherwise I get grumpy. I will get back to your work.I really love how it came out. I feel like I could have done more, but I can now take what I've learned from this and apply it elsewhere. So I love how the old architecture can blend with the new architecture. It adds a lot of character to me.
This is inspired by the Eltz Castle in Germany.
About 14 hours in photoshop.

wow this is great! the colors are very fluid! the best part its very original! now lets see....... the trees were drawn great along with each of the buildin, i can see you put alot of work into this. some parts do look a little fuzzy for example the right of the picture, the rocky part. the middle is the most clear part of the painting. while the bottom is a bit more fuzzy. the bridge was also drawn perfectly . the waterfall is a bit fuzzy . overall this is a great picture that could use a bit tidying up here and there. keep on going!

Ahhhh! How beautiful! I just got back from a trip to Germany, so this makes me really happy. Love the detail and realism in the shading. You're getting really good.

For practice with shadowing this turned out really good. When I look at the castle I can see wonderful depth to it. There are rocks to the right that I think if you did some texture like that in detail it would be very challenging but you'd get a lot out of it. The castle is looking beautiful! Keep up the good work ^.^

I reckon it's a big improvement from your previous castle town piece. It looks a lot less flat, has nicer textures on the walls and greater shading. It's excellent!

About the German reference. I believe it is based on German architecture. It's using post and beam architecture, a type of timber framing, which is common in Europe and in Germany. [link]

Ah yes, timber frames are common for the German countries type of building, but I was referring to the word 'town', Germans were pretty reluctant to make buildings as high, and thus only the castles were built that way (I think it is even typical of German and French castles to be high)

Its a bit of the old German architecture you made everything right.
The Clouds are god, but perhaps u try this brushes i tried it self and they are really good. [link]
The second thing is the Tree on the left side the .... ahh what is the word... trunk^^ is a bit to simple. The image is small but great enough to see that there is place for details
But the Wood and the ruin on the right side are great.
And the details rom the half-timbered house are wonderful.

Thanks for the feedback and the link to the clouds. I'm pretty lazy sometimes as I spent about 14 hours on it so towards the end I was just, meh, good enough. I learned a lot from it and have already started to apply what I learned to my commissions.
